Your Reiki skills can be effectively applied not only when working with people but also for the healing and care of your beloved pets.
Like humans, animals also possess a chakra system that functions similarly — channeling, concentrating, and distributing astral linear life energy to every cell, organ, and system in their bodies.
The use of Reiki energy is based on the idea that all living organisms naturally use life energy flowing through them. When it is abundant, circulates without blockages, and freely reaches every cell in the body, animals remain healthy and balanced, with a lower likelihood of illness. If the energy is low or poorly distributed, specific organs and systems may suffer from an energy deficiency, potentially resulting in stress symptoms or reduced resistance to illness. Reiki can help you maintain an optimal level of their natural life energy, assist them in overcoming illness, or harmonize their energy.
Benefits of Reiki for Your Pets
Improving their overall condition and natural state of balance.
Strengthening the immune system.
Accelerating the healing and recovery process after surgery or illness.
Building trust between you and your pet.
Helping to improve your pet's behavior through relaxation and stress relief.
How to Work with Animals
Provide Reiki mainly in three positions, aligning as much as possible with the animal's chakra system: the head and neck area, the middle part of the body, and the back end of the body. Keep in mind that, as with humans, the chakra system is located along the spine. Place your hands in the respective area as appropriate — one-sided, from above or below, or simultaneously on both sides (top and bottom or laterally).
If the animal has pain in a specific area or organ, focus your work there. Follow the familiar steps of a Reiki session and use the usual and appropriate healing affirmations for the best results according to your goals.
Depending on the type and breed, your "patient" will have unique anatomical features and sizes. For small animals like hamsters, birds, etc., simply holding them in your hands during the Reiki session can be sufficient.
When necessary, you can also work remotely or with time delay, as you would with a person, following the known steps to assist even if you are not directly near the animal in need.
Additionally, you can charge your pet's water with Reiki energy.
Additional Notes
Feel free to supplement the methods mentioned or create your own for working with animals. However, always remember:
Regardless of whether you are the owner or helping someone else's or a stray animal, every living being needs to feel your kind attitude and positive disposition.
Before the Reiki session, it is recommended to say a kind word, fill the space between you with love, and try to establish physical contact and trust to make your silent patient feel comfortable.
It is particularly important to realize that, as with humans, emergencies, life-threatening injuries, or other severe and specific illnesses require mandatory consultation and assistance from a veterinary specialist. In such cases, you can support the healing process with your Reiki skills, but always act responsibly and appropriately.
We wish you success and satisfaction in your relationships with your pets and other animals in need of care and love!
